Fates is a decision-wheel app made by Liminal Palette (“we”, “us”). You build wheels, spin them, and let the fates decide. Everything stays on your device. There's an optional one-time purchase. These terms cover the handful of things worth putting in writing. By downloading or using Fates, you agree to them.
Using the app
Fates is licensed to you, not sold. You may use it on any device you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don't:
- copy, resell, rent, or redistribute the app;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or try to extract the source code, except where that restriction is prohibited by law; or
- use the app to break the law or interfere with its normal operation.
Fates is rated for everyone on Google Play. If you are under the age of majority where you live, please use it with a parent or guardian's permission.
It's for fun — not advice
Fates chooses at random. It's an entertainment and novelty tool for settling everyday, low-stakes “can't decide” moments. It is not a source of professional, legal, medical, financial, or any other advice, and its results are not guaranteed to be fair, lucky, or suitable for any particular decision. Use your own judgement for anything that matters.
Your data stays with you
Fates collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no ads, no tracking, and no network requests. Your wheels, spin history, and settings live only on your device, and uninstalling the app removes them. See the privacy policy for the full picture. Because your data is stored only on your device, keeping it (for example via your own device backups) is up to you — we can't recover it for you.
Purchases
Fates is free to use. “Fates Unleashed” is an optional one-time purchase that unlocks extra features (such as unlimited wheels, additional themes, and spin-history export). It is not a subscription — you are charged once and there is nothing recurring to cancel.
Purchases are processed and billed by Google Play, not by us. Prices are shown before you buy and may vary by region and over time. Refunds, billing questions, and payment disputes are handled under Google Play's terms and refund policies; we don't process payments or issue refunds directly.
If a purchase is refunded or revoked, the unlocked features return to their free state. Your wheels and history are never deleted by this — any content beyond the free limits is locked and preserved, not erased, so it returns if you unlock again.
Updates and changes
We may update Fates over time to add features, fix problems, or keep it working with new versions of Android, and we may occasionally change these terms. If we make a material change, we'll update the effective date below and, where reasonable, note it in the app or on this page. Continuing to use Fates after a change means you accept the updated terms. We may also stop distributing or supporting the app in the future.
No warranty
Fates is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every spin will behave exactly as you expect. Some places don't allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Liminal Palette will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decision you make based on a spin. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can't legally be limited (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, where that applies).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing here removes any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
